Dr. Malika Kapadia is a NYS licensed clinical psychologist who provides individual, couples, and group psychotherapy to the greater Rochester community. She received her BA in psychology from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2003, her MA in Clinical Psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2006, and her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2009. She completed a year-long pre-doctoral internship at American University’s Counseling Center in Washington, DC and a 1.5 year post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester’s University Counseling Center. Dr. Kapadia was then appointed Director of Counseling Services at Nazareth College in January of 2011, where she worked full-time in an administrative, supervisory, and clinical capacity until May of 2013. During that time, she also had a part-time psychotherapy practice. In June of 2013, she transitioned to full-time private practice.
Dr. Kapadia now offers individual, couples, and group psychotherapy as well as clinical consultation to mental health professionals of all disciplines. She is a member of the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA), Rochester Area Group Psychotherapy Society (RAGPS), and Genesee Valley Psychological Association (GVPA). She has been a member of the RAGPS Board since 2012, was President from 2014-2017, and continues to serve as a board member at-large. She has done extensive training in group therapy through both AGPA and the Center for Group Studies (CGS) in New York City. She participates in continuing education focusing on individual, couples, and groups and regularly attends both local and national conferences.
